Ann is passionate about people and offering support in a variety of contexts.  She has 20 years' experience of middle and senior management experience in a public sector environment, of which 14 years were spent in the Registration Service (Births, Deaths and Marriages) in West Sussex, and as Superintendent Registrar in Stockton-on-Tees and North Yorkshire.  She is a holder of the Registrar General's Certificate of Competence in Registration Law and Practice.

In addition, Ann also has 16 years private sector experience in a business background as a company director in the construction industry and has trained as a legal executive dealing with litigious, criminal and family law matters.  She has also worked with a principal solicitor in the region as a practice manager, and more recently, until 2018, was the Director and Trust Secretary of a local charity.  Whilst Ann is now semi-retired and working independently on a self-employed basis, she is committed to supporting charitable causes and sits as a Trustee for a charity based in the North East of England where she currently holds the position of Vice Chair. In April 2020 she was appointed a Justice of the Peace.

Ann holds a number of professional qualifications, including an MBA from Durham University, an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Performance Coaching, a Level 3 Diploma with the Association of Accounting Technicians and has worked with Cruse as a bereavement counsellor.
